You can find Zara Anishanslin speaking at a wide variety of events—perhaps because she is such a huge fan of public history.  She loves putting cutting-edge scholarship out in the world by speaking with smart people outside as well as inside the academy who find the past intriguing, from university students to secondary school educators, from antiques collectors to (most daunting of all!) her children’s elementary and middle school classes.

She’s worked in public history as well as academia. She’s done architectural and landscape surveys for the North Carolina Historic Preservation Office, the Center for Historic Architecture and Design at the University of Delaware, and the Battlefield Protection Program of the National Park Service. She spent a summer restoring stone walls on a medieval castle in Provence. She took photos, cared for collections, and mounted exhibitions at The Textile Museum in DC and the National Building Museum, and served as Interim Executive Director of the Historic Elfreth's Alley Association.

Check her CALENDAR page for upcoming engagements.
